Business Manager - crabtownebigband@verizon.netDoug plays both the 1st and 2nd Tenor Saxophone parts. He is the band's Business Manager and has been a member of the Crabtowne Big Band since 1984. Doug has over 25 years of musical experience in big bands and combos.
His greatest musical influence was provided by jazz pianist Don Scaletta, with whom he performed during his college days. He studied under former Lionel Hampton saxophonist Barry Titone. Doug also performs with Big Band Caliente, a latin based big band located within the Annapolis/Baltimore/Washington region.
Doug retired from the Arundel County Department of Health in 2008 where he worked for 29 years, the final 15 as its Deputy Director. In 2009 Doug returned to the Anne Arundel County Department of Health to serve as Acting Health Director while the current Director is away on military leave.
