Jerry Fleg -Trumpet
Jerry Fleg joined the Crabtowne Big Band in
May 2005.
He plays the second Trumpet book.
Jerry was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio and began
playing trumpet in the seventh grade. Throughout high school
and at the University of Cincinnati Jerry played in various
wind-ensembles and concert bands He studied classical
trumpet with Herbert Tiemeyer of the Cincinnati Symphony
Orchestra. After college, realizing his true calling, Jerry focused his musical efforts
on jazz. Over the past three decades, Jerry has played in
numerous jazz groups throughout Cincinnati Ohio, St. Louis
Missouri, and finally the Annapolis/Baltimore/Washington
metropolitan area. When not performing with Crabtowne, Jerry also
performs with a variety of musical groups around the Annapolis/Baltimore/Washington
metropolitan area. Jerry plays a sterling silver 1962
Bach Bb Stradivarius Trumpet. He gives
special thanks to his wonderful wife, Rosemarie, for her
longstanding support of his musical activities. Jerry is
a physician and is Head of Cardiovascular Studies for the National Institute
of Health.
