A: The Crabtowne Big Band was established in 1981, and has been performing since that time.


Q:  What is the usual instrumentation of The Crabtowne Big Band?

A: 18 pieces - 5 saxes, 4 trombones, 4 trumpets, piano, bass, guitar, drums and vocalist.


Q:  What type of music does the Crabtowne Big Band perform?

A: The band's versatile repertoire includes dance arrangements of big band classics, jazz, pop, latin, waltzes, rock and contemporary selections.


Q:  Can the Crabtowne Big Band provide a smaller group for my event?

      A: Yes.  Please ask us about  a variety of available Crabtowne Combos.


Q:  Where can I see the Crabtowne Big Band perform on a regular basis?

A: Davidsonville Dance Club.


Q:  At what type of  settings can the Crabtowne Big Band perform?

A: Under a tent in a backyard with a dance floor, on stage at a festival or concert, in any reception hall, or in a formal hotel ballroom.  The music of the Crabtowne Big Band works in any atmosphere!


Q:  What are the space requirements and logistical needs of the Crabtowne Big Band?

A: The band requires a minimum area of 16 feet deep and 24 feet wide. We provide all of the necessary  equipment.  All we require additionally is access to standard electrical outlets to power our PA system, piano, bass, guitar and music stand lights.


Q:  What type of attire does the Crabtowne Big Band wear for performances?

A: Whether your occasion is informal, semi-formal or formal, the Crabtowne Big Band presents a professional appearance in either khakis and denim/polo shirts; blue blazers, red ties and gray trousers; or tuxedos to meet the needs of your event.
